Candidate Agreement
Welcome! We work as a team to create successful and long-lasting connections for our incredible clients. We are so glad to have met you and are excited to potentially introduce you to your forever match!
To get started, we’d like to review the following:
Communication & Introductions
Our selection process is highly personalized so we will reach out to you when we believe there is a promising introduction to explore. We will send you an email including the candidate’s bio and why we selected him/her. If it’s a yes for you, we will get their interest and availability to coordinate the date. Once you say yes to an introduction, we begin coordinating on both sides. Because we value our relationships and the time of everyone involved, we ask that you move forward thoughtfully and avoid withdrawing after confirming unless there are exceptional circumstances. To maintain our relationships, it’s important we keep the integrity of our word.
Logistics
Typically, we will take care of any scheduling for your date to make everything easy and fun. We want this to be a positive experience, so please let us know if you strongly prefer a location/restaurant for a first date.
Email is the best way to share availability for dates, feedback, general information - as it helps us stay organized. Ideally, you will send your feedback right after the date, (certainly within 24 hours) while it’s fresh in your mind.
We are so excited to go on this journey with you! Here are a few key things as we get started:
Preparing For A Date
Once both parties agree on the date details, a date confirmation email is sent. Dates will be scheduled at least 7 days in advance when possible.
A second email confirmation is sent on the day of the date. This is when you will receive the phone number of your date. If your date takes place on a Saturday or Sunday, you will receive the number of your date on Friday. We recommend the gentleman send his date a confirmation text and “hello” - please respond to this, but please do not call, exchange pictures, or attempt to reschedule. Nothing replaces meeting in person before passing any judgments!
Confidentiality
We purposely do not share last names, places of employment, or other identifying information. Please respect the privacy of your date and refrain from sharing their profile or Googling them. (We know it’s tempting…. But it’s in everyone’s best interest to trust in the process.)
While we take thoughtful steps in our vetting process, it is not a substitute for safe dating practices or common sense. This isn’t a blind date, but there is no way for us to learn someone’s full character from our interview process and the safety and well-being of everyone involved is very important to us.
Our Screening & Vetting Process
As professional matchmakers, our focus is on facilitating meaningful connections rather than conducting formal investigations. We are not an investigative or law enforcement agency. Our screening process typically includes a review of publicly accessible online information, such as search engines and social media, along with an in-person or virtual interview. We rely in meaningful part on the information individuals choose to share with us. This process is designed to help us gain a thoughtful, holistic sense of each person and to identify any concerns that might suggest someone is not pursuing this work for the right reasons. That said, no screening process can provide a complete picture of a person’s background, character or intention, and privacy laws in certain jurisdictions may limit access to some information. For that reason, we rely on individuals to share information about themselves accurately and fully. We encourage everyone to approach new connections with openness, sound judgment, and appropriate care.
To be considered for a matchmaking service with Lisa Clampitt Matchmaking, we request that you agree to the following:
- Accurate Representation: You represent yourself truthfully and with integrity in all communications and interactions with us.
- Criminal History Disclosure: You affirm that you do not have a criminal history or, in the event that you do, you disclose this information to us. Upon disclosure, we will assess whether your history precludes consideration for matchmaking services.
- Confidentiality: We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your sensitive personal information. Only general details, including first names and non-sensitive information, are shared with potential matches or partner matchmakers.
- Feedback: You agree to provide constructive feedback following any date or introduction facilitated by Lisa Clampitt Matchmaking or our partner matchmakers, within 24 hours.
By moving forward with our services, such as agreeing to a date through Lisa Clampitt Matchmaking, you acknowledge these shared expectations, which are designed to support a positive experience for everyone within our matchmaking community.
Dating Etiquette & Guidelines
We recommend going to dinner, having drinks and small bites, or an activity date.
Dress up. You only get one shot at a first impression. If it’s an activity date, dress appropriately. We are always happy to weigh in on date outfits. Take a selfie and send it over!
Plan ahead and give yourself time to get to the date. It is important to take into account travel time and parking when preparing for your date so that you arrive on time.
Decompress from work and get in the dating mindset. Be curious about the person across from you. This is supposed to be fun! Keep the conversation light, flirty, and festive.
Stay in a positive mindset. Come away with at least three things you liked about the person. Find reasons to say yes to a second date.
The goal of the first date is to have fun and to get a second date!
And, a few things to note:
- Don’t drink too much. Two-drink maximum.
- Should you pay? Call us old school, but we always recommend that the gentleman pays for the first date. From there, it’s up to you two to figure out your dynamic.
- Do not go to someone’s home or an isolated location until you know each other well.
- Let’s keep talk of politics, religion, ex-partners, money, and our matchmakers or your experience with us to a minimum… better yet, just don’t go there!
- If you ever feel uncomfortable on a date, please share this information with the team.
- Can you ask your date on a 2nd date while on the first? YOU BET!
If you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
Cheers to love and life,
Lisa, Beth, Ashley, Morgan, Nicole, and Cayley
